hey guys,

we've been in Bangkok a few days now and met some wicked people. I'm sure you've all heard about the military coup that happened 3 days ago but don't worry, as yet it hasn't affected us. Tomorrow we leave Bangkok to go to a place called Kanchanaburi, which is a but further out and should be a tad safer should things come to a head. Also it should be a place to do some cool things, cuz Bangkok is cool but having just come from hong Konh, we're a bit sick of city life.

The photos are of the crazy weather here.. we went into a shopping centre whilst it was boiling hot and emerged a few hours later to find the roads completely flooded. The thunderstorms here are immense. Of course the next day it was beautifully hot again and there was no evidence whatsoever of the flood that had occurred less than 24 hours before! Madness.

The first hostel we stayed in was lovely, and now we're in an Ozzy run one which seems lovely too. We have met a couple (Zoe and Gaz) from England and are going with them to Kanchanaburi. Should be fun. We went with them last night to a bar caled The Colosseum, and the second photo is from when Ali was dragged up to the stage (my fault - hehe) and nearly kissed by a ladyboy! Very amusing!

we are also posting some photos above this of the other day when we went to a university pool. We went with a Canadian guy, Gabriel, and it was amazing. I was a little scared of the diving boards but i did well considering. Ali and Gab were mad, and just loved it! It was a really good day, and though the photos don't show it, the weather was lovely and we caught the sun maybe a bit too much! fine now tho!

will update you guys when we get back from our trip, hope everyone is well. good luck with the baby Shaf, let me know when it's born! I'm really excited for you.
Vicky - happy birthday incase i dont get to internet nearer the time.
Brooke - happy birthday, am STILL looking for a good prezzie!
Mum - thanks :) Love you x

Ali would say something but he's poodled off somewhere, hi to his parents tho, he wanted to let u know he's safe from the coup!

Hey Tarabell
Glad you haven't inadvertently ended up in the middle of the coup telling all the army officers how it should be done, in a Harry Enfield style... 'you don't wanna do it like that!' Are you doing your cultural bit & visiting the Bridge over t'River while you're up North? Top travel tip for today: A language barrier is not an obstacle; it’s an excuse to avoid small talk and gesticulate wildly. On that note - Brooke said she'd like a small elephant for her b'day.
Love & smarties,
Caz xxx
